Mules Take First NESCAC Win 5-2 at Conn.

New London, Conn. - Today, Colby faced the Connecticut College Camels in their second NESCAC matchup of the year. Looking for an improvement after their loss against Trinity the day before, the Mules showed a new-found confidence that was able to carry them past the Camels.

The first quarter looked as though it may be a tough battle, but a buzzer beater goal by Sandrine Brien (headline photo) assisted by Casey Winslow would put the Mules up by 1 heading into the second quarter. In the second quarter, the Mules took ten shots, scoring three goals.

Although the third and fourth quarters proved to be more of a fight, the Mules were able to hold Connecticut College to two goals, with Emily Loeb making one save on the day, and first-year Hattie Baker playing for her first time in the cage in the fourth.

Brien notched her first hat trick of her career as a Mule and also added an assist. Lillian Kistner had a game high of two assists on the day, and many more Mules who's impact did not make the score sheet, but helped cap off this wonderful team effort.

The Mules next play Saturday, September 25th, at 1:00 PM against Tufts University. Spectators must wear masks while in any indoor facility regardless of vaccination status. Go Mules!!
