The Mules were neck and neck with the Monks all throughout the first half.  The lead switched on four different occasions and was tied twice.  Then, something switched with the Mules and they went on a 16-3 run over the Monks at the end of the first half, giving them a 12-point lead going into the break.  Will King (14) showed up big for the Mules today, contributing 10 of the 16 point run in the first half.  The Monks cut the deficit to single digits early in the second half but the Mules hit a number of threes in just over two minutes to secure the momentum needed to finish the game with a win.  With only 3:13 to go in the second half Alec McGovern (21) sunk a three to make the score 76-56, the game record lead.

The Mules were strong on their turnover conversions today, scoring 22 points off of 17 Monks turnovers.  Additionally, individuals made strong contributions to the team play from today.  Sophomore King led all scorers with 22 points and added nine rebounds, six assists, and three steals to an impressive stat line, first year David Basich (41) tallied 14 points and five rebounds, sophomore Cooper Wirkala (5) netted 13 with three rebounds, and sophomore McGovern rounded out the Mules' quartet of top scorers with 11 points.  Overall strong play for the Mules to finish the game 77-61, making the team 3-0 to start their season.
