Gorham, Maine - The Men's Basketball team traveled to Gorham to play University of Southern Maine again. They started a long weekend off strong with a solid win of 86-68 against the Huskies, propelling them into the rest of the weekend as they take on St. Joseph's College on Saturday and Sunday. The Mules came out strong in the first half, making it a much more comfortable win than last week.

Colby came out strong against the Huskies tonight. Scoring 48 points in the first half with a 56% field goal percentage the Mules took a decisive lead that could allow them to settle into the second half. The Mules showed depth today with 43 points coming from off the bench.

Henry Westrich (23), and
David Basich (41) were top scorers today for the Mules each scoring 14, 13, and 13 respectively.
Jonah Obi (25) was a close fourth scoring 11 points today. In the second half the Mules dropped in field goal percentage to 37% but they still managed to score 38 points. The Mules tied USM in the second half, each with 38 points, the Huskies holding Colby's lead to 18 points.
On defense, the Mules edged out the Huskies in defensive rebounds 33-30. Obi, McGovern,
Wallace Tucker (55),
Cooper Wirkala (5), and
Lucas Green (2) each had four defensive rebounds with Basich, Westrich and
Will King (14) making contributions as well. In the first half, Colby held the Huskies to 30 points, trailing 18 points behind Colby. They maintained this lead through the second half to finsih the game 86-68.
The Mules will play tomorrow and Sunday against St. Joseph's College. The stands are still closed to fans but the games will be streaming from St. Joe's at 2 pm on Saturday and from Colby at 2 pm on Sunday.
