Waterville, MAINE - On December 4th, 2021 the Colby Mules took on visiting team Trinity College as their first match of the season. Overall, the Mules fell 0-9 on the women's side and 0-9 on the men's side with a couple of close matches.
Some highlights of the day include #1 seat for the Colby Mules, Andrea Lee, who fought until the very end during her 5 game match against Malak Ashraf Kamal. Andrea Lee started off strong with a 2-0 lead against her opponent only needing one more successful game to collect a win for the Mules. In the third game, Trinity came back taking the win with a final of (11-6, 11-7, 10-12, 4-11, 6-11).
On the men's side, the extra seat for the Colby Mules, Tyler Burt, pulled out the only win of the day against his opponent Henry Culhane with a final of (11-6, 11-9, 13-11). The #1 seat, Dylan Tymkiw, also had a really close 5 game match against his opponent, Mohamed Sharaf. Trinity took the win in the end (8-11, 11-8, 11-8, 3-11, 7-11), but not without a fight from the Mules.
On January 8th, the Colby Mules will travel down to Vermont to compete against Middlebury College at 1:00 pm. Look for updates on the Colby Squash Instagram.
