Medford, Massachusetts- The Colby Men's Hockey team made their way down to Medford, MA this Friday night to play the Tufts University Jumbos. Coming off of a strong win against Bowdoin College, the Mules were looking to get their overall winning percentage above .500 for the first time this season.

Nine seconds into the game, the Mules drew a hooking penalty against Tufts, giving them an early power play opportunity. Junior
Alex Bourhas scored his first goal of the season 1:03 into the period, a power play goal assisted by sophomore
Jack Sullivan, his eight fifth of the season. Just under fifteen minutes later, first-year
Will Molson scored his first collegiate goal, assists being credited to junior
Drew Burke and
Jack Sullivan.

Up 2-0 heading into the second period, the Mules gave up an early penalty at 00:29 of the second period to test their penalty kill. The Mules were able to successfully kill the penalty, and two other penalties during the second period. Despite taking 17 shots this period, the Mules were unable to score another goal.
Andy Beran made six saves to keep the score 2-0 Colby heading into the final period.

While the Mules started the period similar to the last by giving up an early penalty,
Carter Breitenfeldt was able to intercept a pass from a Tufts defenseman to turn a one-on-one opportunity with the keeper, giving him his second goal of the season, and the Mules a short-handed goal to go up 3-0 with just under 17 minutes remaining. The Mules continued to put pressure on the Jumbo's goaltender, adding a fourth goal from
Jake Klein, assisted by
Quinn Doyle 16:09 into the final period.
Andy Beran would record his first shutout of the season and recorded 13 saves to get the win.
