Providence, RI- The Mules traveled to Johnson and Wales University yesterday, November 20th, in order to play their fourth game of the season. Ultimately, Colby brought home the win, ending the game with a final score of 82-72. Before this game Johnson and Wales was 1-0 and Colby was 2-1.
The Mules took control at the beginning of the game and never let go of the lead, outscoring the Wildcats 44-29 in the first half. Johnson and Wales did their best to battle back in the second half, outscoring Colby Basketball 43-38. Ultimately it wasn't enough to break down the lead and the Mules easily survived the resurgence.
Noah Tyson,
Alec McGovern, and
Jack Lawson led Colby to the strong win, each playing very efficiently. Tyson was incredible beyond the three point line, shooting 6/11 for 18 points, he also added 2 more points off free throws.
Noah Tyson also played well outside of just scoring the ball, tallying five rebounds, four assists, one block, and two steals. McGovern didn't shoot quite as efficiently as Tyson, but still had an impressive 16 points, shooting 6-14 from the field and 4-9 from three.
Jack Lawson did the most on the least amount of minutes, creating 16 points, seven rebounds, and two steals in just 20 minutes of play. He shot an unimaginably efficient 7-10 from the field and 1-2 from three point land.
The Mules will look to continue their strong start to the season when they host Babson College on Tuesday, November 23rd, at 5:00 PM.
