karpaThe Mules came out strong in the first period shooting early and often.  Colby buried their first goal only 4:36 into the first period, the first goal of the regular season.  McKinley Karpa (pictured left), returning from time off during COVID last year, is credited with the first goal, assisted by Madi Aumann and Colleen Donaghue.  Williams did not let the energy get away from them and held the rest of the period scoreless.  The Mules had 22 shots to the Ephs 17 and Colby keeper Nina Prunster left the first period with 11 saves.

Neither team scored in the second period, and the Ephs led in shots 20 to 14, unleashing five shots on the Mules while Tate Senden and Lexi Cafiero spent time in the penalty box for holding and slashing respectively.  Prunster is credited with a total of 16 saves in the second period.

The Mules got their groove back in the third period and scored two more goals at 13:49 against Chloe Heiting and 19:25 on an empty net.  Senden had her second and third penalty of the game for hooking and tripping, while Williams added in two penalties for interference and hooking.  Colby and Williams tied with 15 shots each in the third period.

The Mules will face off again in Williamstown against the Ephs on Saturday November 20th at 3:00pm.
