Williamstown, Mass. – The Mules traveled to take on the Williams College Ephs on their homecoming weekend Saturday. The fog lifted and the game began at 12pm on Williamson Field.
Colby came out strong against the hosts, with most of the play happening in the midfield and there was no clear advantage to either team to start the contest. The Ephs found the back of the cage four minutes into the first quarter and again on a penalty stroke nine minutes into the first quarter. Colby came out in the second quarter with a fire and played evenly with Williams. There was no score in the second quarter, leaving the tally 2-0 Williams at the end of the first half.
Looking to turn the tide in the second half, the Mules came out with intensity, but Williams made the score 3-0 only six minutes into the third quarter. Williams topped off their Homecoming game with two more goals in the fourth, making the final score 5-0. Williams had 20 shots on goal and goalkeeper
Emily Loeb had 15 saves on the day, holding the Mules down in the backfield.
Colby will look to face Husson University in Bangor, Maine this Tuesday October 12
