Bangor, MAINE- The Mules headed up to Bangor for their final non-conference matchup of the season against the Husson University Eagles. Looking to finish their season undefeated in non-conference play, the Mules were looking for the win with first-year Hattie Baker making her first career start in net. 

The first half of the match proved to be a battle for the Mules, struggling to find the back of the net with six shots in the first half.  The Mules showed major improvements from their previous matches, working together on their team defense and their transition game. Although the Mules were unable to find the back of the net this half, their hard work would wear down the Eagles' defense.

Heading into the third quarter of the match, the Mules gave up a goal just a mere three and a half minutes into the quarter. While being down 1-0 the Mules never gave up and after working hard on their transition it finally paid off. Junior Kaitlyn Smith scored her first goal of the season four minutes after Husson, tying the game at one goal apiece.

Pernilla Shaw scored her sixth goal of the season on a one-timer from Sandrine Brien just over one minute into the fourth quarter. The Mules would be able to defend a tenacious Husson squad and secure the win with a final score of 2-1. Hattie Baker finished the match with three saves and secured her first win of her career.

The Mules will play the number one ranked team in the country in Middlebury College this Saturday, October 16, at 12:00 PM. Go Mules!!
