Worcester, MASSACHUSETTS - The Colby Volleyball team traveled to Worcester for a double header this Saturday, first against the Clark University followed by a match with the Rivier University Raiders.
In the first match the Mules fought hard to come out on top. They won the first set (25-22) but fell short in the second (18-25). The team came back in the following two sets (25-21, 25-21), ultimately beating the Cougars 3-1. Colby led all around in points, kills, assists, and digs. Jenny Slaveck led the team in kills with 15 across the four sets. Bella Schumacher crushed the backcourt, leading the Mules with 14 digs.
The second match of the day was against Raiders of Rivier University. Colby fought hard in each set, but ultimately lost 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 26-14). Bella Schumacher led the Mules with 14 digs in the back court, and Natalie Bumpus led at the net with 6 kills. Morgan Selby stepped up with 12 aces and 8 digs throughout the match.
Colby Volleyball is on the road again on Wednesday Oct 23, in Castine Maine, against Maine Maritime Academy. Start time is set for 7:00pm.
