Women's Lacrosse tops UNE, moves to 4-1

Biddeford, Maine. - On another false spring day in Maine the Colby Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Biddeford to play the University of New England Nor'Easters, running its record to 4-1 with a 22-10 victory.

GAME NOTES: The Mules are on a roll with a four-game win streak and success on their first road trip.  Colby unleashed 37 shots against New England today and 22 goals from 12 different scorers to win their first game on the road.  We can't wait to see how the Mules offense develops throughout the season.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES: 

  • The Colby ride was extremely successful in putting pressure on the Nor'Easters' clear as they were only successful on half of them.

  • Colby spread the love today on attack with 12 different scorers.

  • Annie Eddy (24) and Taylor Moore (13) were top-scorers today with five and four goals apiece.

  • Defense had a total of 10 caused turnovers.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE NOR-EASTERS: 

  • Casey Conwell (19) was the top goal-scorer with four of the ten goals.

  • Emily Jussaume (3) led in draw controls with six total.

  • The Nor'Easters scored 10 of their 16 shots.

KEY STATS:

  • The two teams were nearly even in draw controls with 17 for the Mules and 16 for the Nor'Easters.

  • Colby had nearly double the ground balls that UNE had.

NEXT MATCHUP: Colby will host Bowdoin Thursday night at 7:00pm. As the Mules head into the middle of their season we will see leaps and bounds in tactical play and likely continued success.
