Men's Ice Hockey feels pressure from Hamilton, lose 4-1

CLINTON, N.Y.- Colby College Men's Ice Hockey fell to the Hamilton College Continentals, 4-1. With the loss the Mules move to 3-9-2 in NESCAC play (7-10-3 overall).

GAME NOTES: Hamilton scored twice in the first and twice in the final frame to take the victory. Both teams with 25 shots a piece.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES:

  • Finding themselves down 2-0 after one, The penalty kill unit scored for the second time of the weekend with a Spencer Hewson goal. J.P. Schuhlen and Logan Clarke assisted at 4:31.
  • Andrew Tucci finished with 21 saves on the day.
  • Clarke led the team with 4 shots.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE CONTINENTALS:

  • Cade Groton scored a goal at 5:07 of the first period. Stephen Cochrane and Sam Jones assisted.
  • Later in the period, Nick Hawkins made it a 2-0 game. Sean Allen assisted at 14:19.
  • Jordi Jefferson tallied the score early in the final frame. Nick Ursitti and Allen pushed the puck into the offensive zone.
  • Bennett Morrison then capped the game with the power play goal, unassisted at 15:13.
  • Anthony Tirabassi collected 24 saves.

KEY STATS:

  • Combined the teams finished with 11 penalties.

NEXT MATCHUP: Colby now looks on to Senior Weekend as they look forward to hosting Wesleyan University. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00pm.
