Box Score Waterville, ME - The Colby College Men's Basketball goes 1-1 on the weekend home stand with after a 87-69 loss to the Amherst College Mammoths.
GAME NOTES
- Both teams are battling for seeding in the upcoming NESCAC tournament and came out looking to prove supremacy. Colby is sitting at #2 while Amherst is currently at #3. It was a back and forth dual at the beginning of the first half until the Mammoths went on a streak to take a 20 point lead. Colby used a streak of their own to claw their way back to within 13 at half. Amherst led 45-32 at half time. Colby came out the way they finished the first half and were able to get within five points with ten minutes to play. That is as close as the Mules were able to get. The Mammoths used another shooting streak to break it open on their way to an 87-69 win.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES
- Five players scored in double figures for the Mules. Matt Hanna had 13 points to lead the way.
- Alex Dorion (photo insert), Noah Tyson, and Wallace Tucker all had 12 points. Tyson added six rebounds. Tucker shot 3-6 from beyond the arc.
- Dean Weiner did his part with 11 points and five rebounds. He went 5-11 from the field.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MAMMOTHS
- Amherst also had five players score in double figures with Garrett Day leading all scorers with 16 points. He went 4-8 from three.
- Eric Sellew added 15 points shooting 6-9 from the field.
- Grant Robinson pitched in 11 points while Josh Chery and Fru Che each had ten.
KEY STATS
- The Mules and Mammoths now each have two losses in NESCAC play.
- Colby had 36 points off of turnovers on the afternoon.

- Colby will get a short break before they back in action at home on Tuesday February, 11 when they take on the Bates College Bobcats at 7:30 PM.
