Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Mules Falls 99–84 at Tufts in NESCAC Quarterfinal

Medford, Mass. — The Colby Men's Basketball team put together a strong offensive showing Saturday but came up short in a 99–84 loss to #11 nationally ranked Tufts University in the NESCAC Quarterfinal round. The Mules conclude the 2025-26 season with a 16-9 overall record under a new coaching staff led by Head Coach Sean Rutigliano

Colby opened the game with one of its best shooting halves of the season, hitting 61 percent from the field and knocking down seven threes to stay neck in neck with the Jumbos 52-48 at the half. Despite Colby's efficient offense, Tufts created separation in the second half behind its rebounding advantage and paint scoring. The Mules shot 48.3 percent overall and 40 percent from beyond the arc, continuing the balanced attack that kept them in contention for much of the afternoon. Tufts' second-chance opportunities and transition points ultimately proved the difference, though Colby's ball movement and outside shooting kept the pressure on throughout.

Dan Civello paced the Mules with 20 points, while Max Poulton added 16 with 4-of-6 shooting from deep. Savion Stroud delivered a versatile performance with 11 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and three steals and Sam Hinman matched him with 11 points.

The Colby Men's Basketball team will be back in action next winter.
