Box Score AMHERST, Mass.- Colby College Women's Ice Hockey made a big comeback in the third period to earn a tie against Amherst College, 2-2 OT.
GAME NOTES: Heading into the final game of the regular season, both teams looked to secure the second seed in the NESCAC conference. With the win yesterday (2/21) and tie today, Colby edges out the Mammoths to lock up the #2 seed. The Mules finish the season with the program's highest seeding.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES:
- Down 2-0, early in the third period Lexi Cafiero rifled the puck into the net to make it a one goal game. Tess Dupre (photo inset) assisted on the goal at 3:23.
- As the clock wound down, the power play unit found Dupre in front as she scored the tying goal at 18:47. Madi Brown and Lauren Klein assisted on the play.
- In goal Cierra San Roman finished with 31 saves. She finishes the regular season with a 4-1-4 record and .920 save percentage.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MAMMOTHS:
- Rose Mroczka found the back of the net in the second period at 13:04. Kaitlin Hoang and Ava Simoncelli assisted on the score.
- At the 2:33 mark of the third period, Hoang made it a 2-0 game. Jillian Mazzocca and Carley Daly sent the puck towards the net.
- Caitlin Walker finished with 49 saves.
KEY STATS:
- Cafiero and Dupre finish the regular season tied with the team's best 19 points. Each has 8 goals and 11 assists.
- Mules led the game with shots 52-33.
- The penalty kill unit for the Mules finishes the season with 86.9%

NEXT MATCHUP: The Mules now move onto the playoffs and await for #7 Bowdoin College to enter the Alfond Rink. Game is scheduled for Saturday, 2/29. Puck drop is TBA.
