Box Score Waterville, Maine – The Colby College Men's Basketball team finished conference play with an 85-82 last-second win against the Wesleyan College Cardinals.
GAME NOTES
- Wesleyan started out the game with a 15-3 lead at the 16:50 mark of the first half. The Mules were able to slowly crack into the lead and bring their deficit to only four with just under 10 minutes to play. It was a back and forth battle for the remainder of the half with multiple players hitting buckets from beyond the arc. Wesleyan would take a 49-43 lead into half time. The conference battle would continue in the second half with the Cardinals taking a three point lead with five minutes to play. The game would be tied with 35 seconds to play after a Gabe Ravetz three point field goal. Colby would draw up a play for Wallace Tucker who would hit a big time three point field with four seconds left to win the game for the Mules.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES
- Colby had five players in double figures with Matt Hanna leading the way with 20 points. He finished shooting 7-17 from the field.
- Alex Dorion added 18 points for the Mules. He shot 6-11 from three point land.
- Will King pitched in 17 points and dished out eight assists.
Tucker had 15 points and shot 2-3 from beyond the arc coming off the bench. Noah Tyson finished with 11 points in the victory.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE CARDINALS
- Sam Peek led all scorers with 25 points shooting 9-12 from the field. He also added 10 rebounds to complete the double-double.
- Jordan James pitched in with 17 points for the Cardinals shooting 7-11 from the field.
- Antone Walker had 16 points hitting 6-17 from the field.
KEY STATS
- The Mules shot 43% from the field and 40% from the three.
- Colby's bench outscored Wesleyan's bench 17-13.
