Colby falls to Wesleyan 62-50 in final game of season

Middletown, CT – The Colby College Women's Basketball falls to the Wesleyan University Cardinals in final game of season, 62-50.  

GAME NOTES

  • The Mules traveled to Connecticut to play their final regular season game of the year and looked to finish with a win. Alisha Aube would drop nine points before halftime. Neither team was able to pull away in the first quarter with The Cardinals leading 15-12 going into the second quarter. The Mules would go on a streak in the second quarter and take the 30-28 lead into halftime. The Cardinals would tie up the game at the end of the third quarter and would use that momentum to get the victory on their home court by a score of 62-50.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES

  • Ainsley Burns led the way for the Mules with 16 points going 6-14 from the field and 3-5 from beyond the arc.
  • Keagan Dunbar added 12 points coming off the bench. She also added four rebounds.
  • Alisha Aube pitched in with five points while Carly Christofori had six.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE CARDINALS

  • Maddie Clark led all scorers with 19 points on the night. She went 6-13 from the field.
  • Marina Petruzzi had 14 points shooting 6-15 from the field. She added seven rebounds and five seals.
  • Katy O'Connor pitched in with 10 points and Emma Roush added nine points off the bench.

KEY STATS

  • There were 10 lead changes and six ties in the game.
  • Colby's bench outscored Wesleyan 17-15.
