Box Score Waterville, Maine – The Colby College Women's Basketball team breaks away from the University of Maine at Farmington Beavers and cruise to a 76-56 victory.
GAME NOTES
- The Mules and Beavers traded baskets throughout the first quarter with neither team able to gain a comfortable lead. Colby took a 4 point lead into the second. Colby was able to break it open in the second with Ainsley Burns and Jane MacKerron each hitting double figures on the way to a 43-26 halftime lead. The Mules would continue to role in the second half and win by 20 by a score of 76-56
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES
- Colby had 3 players score in double figures while Brooke Guiffre (headline photo) was one point shy with nine on the night.
Burns (photo inset) had the hot hand all night leading all scorers with 23 points. She went 9-15 from the field and 3-7 from three.
- MacKerron finished with a double-double dropping 12 points and pulling down 16 rebounds.
- Keagan Dunbar pitched in 12 points and Paige Russell added eight.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE BEAVERS
- Alex Bessey and Molly Folsom finished in double figures for UMF. Bessey was the leading scorer for the Beavers with 21 points. Folsom had 12 points and nine rebounds.
- Tia Day shot 50% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc to pitch in eight points.
KEY STATS
- Colby is third in the NESCAC in three point field goals made per game with seven and fourth in three point percentage at 32%.
- Guiffre is sixth in the NESCAC with a 41.4% field goal percentage.
