The Mules lose to the Huskies on the road 70-64

Gorham, ME – The Colby College Women's Basketball team fell to the University of Southern Maine Huskies 70-64 on the road.  

GAME NOTES

  • The Huskies were able to go on a 9-0 run to take a seven point lead going into the second quarter. Colby held the advantage in the second quarter outscoring USM 17-16. The Mules were able to close the gap to one at the end of the third. In the end the Huskies were able to close out the Mules to take a 70-64 win.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES

  • The Mules shot 72.2% from the free throw line.
  • Keagan Dunbar (photo insert) ended with 14 points and eight rebounds.
  • Alisha Aube and Brooke Guiffre (headline photo) each had 13 points. Guiffre went 6-7 from the field.
  • Ainsley Burns pitched in with nine points and Grace Coutu added eight.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE HUSKIES

  • Abi Ramirez led all scorers with 17 points and shot 50% from the field.
  • Kristen Curley finished with 16 points. She hit four of five from three point land.
  • Jackie Luckhardt had 10 points on the night.

KEY STATS

  • The Mules shot 40.7% from the field and out rebounded the Huskies 42-34.
  • Colby ended with 28 points in the paint and 25 points off the bench.

  • Colby will play at NESCAC opponent Connecticut College on January 10 at 7:00 PM.
