Colby tops Williams 73-61, remains perfect on the year

Williamstown, MA – The Colby College Men's Basketball team finished their weekend road trip taking down another NESCAC opponent with a 73-61 win against The Williams College Ephs.

GAME NOTES

  • Sam Jefferson helped guide the Mules in the first half dropping 18 points and going 7-10 from the field. He also went 4-6 from three. Colby led the entire first half taking a 39-32 lead into halftime. With 16:37 left in the game Williams was able to tie up the game at 43-43 but shortly after Colby was able to take back the lead and gain control of the game for good to close out the Ephs and take 73-61 road victory.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES

  • Sam Jefferson led all scorers with 33 points on the afternoon. He went 12-16 from the field, 6-9 from beyond the arc and 3-3 from the free throw line.
  • Alex Dorion finished with 12 points going 5-12.
  • Will King added 11 points and eight assists.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE EPHS

  • Matt Karpowicz finished with a team high 26 points and added eight rebounds.
  • Jovan Jones also finished in double figures with 11 points shooting over 50% from the field. Cole Prowitt-Smith had eight points off the bench.  

KEY STATS

  • There were four ties and 1 lead change. The Mules largest lead of the game was 16 points.
  • Colby scored 22 points off turnovers and shot 53.7% from the field.

NEXT MATCHUP

  • The Mules will be back on the road Tuesday, January 21 when they head to Bangor, ME to take on the Husson College Eagles at 7:30 PM.
