Women fall to #21 Wesleyan, beat Mount Holyoke in doubleheader

Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Squash Teams took on the Cardinals of Wesleyan University Saturday. 

The #23 ranked Men's Team defeated the #28 ranked Cardinals by a score of 9-0.  First year Ondrej Vorlicek improved to 3-1 from the first spot in his win over Sean Choi 11-5, 11-3, 11-2.  The closest contested battle cam in the #2 spot with Dylan Tymkiw taking the match in four sets over John Sutherby 11-1, 9-11, 12-10, 11-6. 

The #24 ranked Women's Team fell to #21 Wesleyan by a score of 7-2.   First year Mariam Monsoor ran her record on the year to 3-1 with a win over Aditi Prasad 11-9, 15-13, 11-6 from the #1 spot.  Sydney Ku also won from the #2 spot, defeating Ananya Vir in five sets 5-11, 11-6, 8-11, 11-9, 11-4. 

In the afternoon, the women also took on #22 ranked Mount Holyoke, defeating the Lyons 7-2.   Sydney Ku was dominant in the #2 spot, defeating Giselle Cabrera 11-2, 11-5, 11-3.  Stephanie Keane won a tightly contested three-set matchover Genesis Lara Granados from the #4 spot, 14-12, 12-10, 11-6.  

Both teams are back in action Sunday playing host to Williams College at 12:00pm.
