CLINTON, N.Y. -- After nearly pulling off an upset of third-seeded Williams College, the sixth-seeded Colby College men's squash team settled for a 9-0 victory over Hamilton College on the second day of the NESCAC Championships at Hamilton.
The Mules will play Amherst College on Sunday at 9 a.m. in the fifth-place match.
In the Hamilton match, first position player Will McBrian fought back from two sets down to pull out a 3-2 victory. Chase Holding also had a 3-2 win for the Mules.
The Mules had fallen 8-1 to Williams a few weeks ago at home, but many of the matches were tight. Colby won position matches four to seven and could have won the match if not for three tough 3-2 setbacks.
Will Pepi, Alex Kurtin, Holding, and Jason Brodo won matches for Colby against the Ephs.
