AMHERST, Mass. -- The fifth-seeded Colby College men's squash team fell 9-0 to Middlebury College in a NESCAC Championships quarterfinal match, but the Mules rebounded for a 6-3 win over Wesleyan University on Saturday.
The Mules will play in the fifth-place match on Sunday at 11 a.m. against host Amherst College.
Colby lost the first three positions against Wesleyan, but won two 3-2 matches and had three 3-1 wins in spots four to nine.
Hugh Doherty (pictured) came back from a 2-1 set deficit to win 11-5, 11-5 in the final two sets at the fourth spot. Brodo won 11-5 in the fifth set to earn the key win at the seventh position.
Will Pepi (five), Andrew Swapp (sixth), and Sam Hitt (nine) won 3-1 matches for Colby. Matt Epstein took a 3-0 victory at the eighth spot.
