STOWE, Vt. -- Mardi Haskell placed fourth and first-year Sandra Schoepke had her first collegiate top-10 finish for the Colby College women's alpine ski team at the University of Vermont Carnival at Stowe on Friday.
On the men's side,
Max Richard kept up his solid skiing by taking 14th place in the giant slalom.
Haskell was in sixth place after her first run of 1:10.16, but moved up two spots after a 1:12.87 for a two-run total time of 2:23.03.
Schoepke, who was ninth overall, went 1:10.88 on her first run and took a 1:13.07 on the second trip for her total time of 2:23.95.
Ryanne Daley placed 25th in 2:28.66 and
Lexi Hanus was 27th with a 2:30.68.
The Colby men placed eighth with a score of 61, but were just four points out of fifth place. Richard had runs of 1:09.39 and 1:09.64 for a two-run time of 2:19.03.
