Lawlor finishes 91st at the NCAA Women's Cross Country meet

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- In her first time at the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships, Colby College's Caitlin Lawlor (Concord, Mass.) took 91st place at Sawyer State Park on Saturday.

Runners braved a wet course, cool weather, and strong winds. The weather during the week was warm in Kentucky.

Lawlor, in a field of 280 finishers, was always among the top 100 runners during the 6-kilometer event. She was one of seven individual qualifiers from the New England Region.

Lawlor, a junior, finished in 17th place and earned All-New England honors at the New England Division III Championships/NCAA Regional Qualifier to qualify for nationals.

Lawlor also earned her first All-NESCAC honor after being on the second team with a 12th-place finish at the league meet at Quarry Road Trails in Waterville.
