Denis Tobin joined the Colby Men's Basketball staff in the spring of 2022 as the John "Swisher" Mitchell Assistant Coach.
During the 2022-23 season, Tobin helped lead the Mules to a 20-7 overall record were they became conference championship finalists resulting in being named the top ranked team in Maine. That year, Tobin contributed in coaching a First Team All-NESCACÂ and 2nd Team All-Region One player in Will King '23.Â
Before coming to Mayflower Hill, Tobin spent the 2021-22 season as an assistant coach for Worcester Polytechnic Institute, helping WPI to a 27-3 record, setting a new mark for most wins in school history. The Goats won the NEWMAC tournament, and advanced to the NCAA Elite 8, losing to the eventual National Champion Randolph-Macon.  Tobin helped coach three all-league players, including the National Rookie of the Year John Adams.Â
Prior to arriving in Worcester, Tobin coached two seasons at Suffolk University as a Graduate Assistant, completing his master's degree in Higher Education Administration. Â
A 2019 graduate of Clark University, Tobin served as a team captain his senior year, and won the NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award.Â
