Biography

Margaret graduated from Concord-Carlisle Regional High School.

AT COLBY 

Margaret is a Psychology major at Colby.

2017 outdoor season highlights: Giles was ninth of 23 competitors in the 400 hurdles at the NESCAC meet. She also took second in the 400 hurdles at the Tufts Sunshine Classic and fifth in the 400 hurdles. 

2017 indoor season highlights: Giles finished first in the 800 meters at the Bowdoin Invitational, second in the event at the Southern Maine Open, and second at the Wheaton Invitational. She ran the third leg for the 3,200 relay team that placed sixth at the Open New England Championships. Giles was second in the 600 meters at the Maine State event. 

2016 outdoor season highlights: At the Bowdoin Invitational, Margaret helped the 4x400 meter relay team to a victory and raced to a second-place finish in the 400 hurdles. Giles was third in the 400 hurdles at the Colby Open. At the Aloha Relays, Margaret helped the 4x800 meter relay team to a third-place finish and was seventh in the 400 meter hurdles. Margaret finished out her sophomore year at the NESCAC Championships, helping the 4x800 meter relay team to an eighth-place finish and raced to a 12th in the 400 meter hurdles.

2016 indoor track season highlights: Giles took first in the 800 meters at the Southern Maine Open and first in the 600 meters at the Bates tri-meet to open the season. At the Wheaton Invitational, Giles finished second in the 800 meters and helped the 4x400 meter relay team take fourth. Margaret finished eighth in the 800 meters and fourth with the 4x400 relay team at the Maine State Championships. She concluded the season by helping the 4x800 relay team take 14th at the Open New England Championships.

2015 cross country season highlights: Giles finished 30th at the Bowdoin Invitational in her only race of the year.

2015 outdoor track season highlights: Giles opened the outdoor season at the Jim Sheehan Memorial, finishing the 400 hurdles in ninth and helping the 4x400 relay team take fourth. At the Colby Invitational, Giles took fifth in the 400 hurdles and fourth with the 4x400 relay team. Competing at Bowdoin, Giles took second in the 400 hurdles. At the NESCAC Championships, Giles took eighth in the 400 hurdles and helped the 4x400 relay team take fifth and the 4x800 relay team take ninth. To finish her season, Giles competed in the New England Division III Championships, taking ninth in the 400 hurdles.

2015 indoor track season highlights: Giles opened the season by taking fourth in the 600 meters and second with the 4x400 relay team at the USM Invitational. Giles then competed at the Bates Invitational, taking third with the 4x200 relay team and first in the 800. Giles then took eighth in the 600 at the Bowdoin Invitational. At the Maine State Championships, Giles took third with the 4x400 relay team and fourth in the 800. Giles concluded her season at the New England Division III Championships, where she took 13th with the 4x800 relay team and 19th in the 800.

2014 cross country season highlights: Giles competed in the Colby Invitational in her first year with the Mules, finishing fourth.
