Biography
BEFORE COLBY
Helen graduated from Hall High School, where she was a member of the field hockey and track teams. She was a four-year all-conference field hockey and track selection, and an all-state field hockey selection her senior year.
AT COLBY
Helen is a Government major and has minors in Anthropology and Computer Science.
2018 indoor season highlights: Chavey was a consistent top five finisher during the season. She had a third place finish in the 3,000 meters and a fifth place finish in the 1,000 meters. She also bookended her season by placing fourth in the mile run to open the season and fifth in the mile at the Tufts qualifying meet.
2017 outdoor season highlights: Helen finished in fourth place in the 1,500 meters at the Emory Classic and raced in the 800 meters.
2017 indoor season highlights: Chavey ran the anchor leg and was part of the winning 3,200 relay team at the Maine State Championships. She also ran in the 1,000 meters at a Boston University meet.
2016 outdoor season highlights: Chavey did not compete during the outdoor season.
2016 indoor track season highlights: Chavey finished fourth in the 1,200 meters at the Wheaton Invitational and then finished sixth in the 800 meters and helped the 4x800 meter relay team finish second at the Maine State Championships. Then competing in the DMR, Helen took 22nd in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, fifth at the Open New England Championships, and sixth at the Tufts Final Qualifying Meet.
2015 cross country season highlights: Chavey opened the seaon by taking fifth in the Bates first-year/sophomore race. She then finished 20th at the Maine State Championships and 106th at the NESCAC Championships.
