Colby College

Why I chose Colby: Although my welcoming teammates had a significant role in choosing Colby, another reason is how the school provides support for each student both during and after their time on campus. Within the first few weeks of starting at Colby, I was able to find adults and friends who offered their unwilling support. Additionally, through amazing resources such as Davis Connects, Colby provides guidance for students like me who still may be unsure about their undergraduate plans.

What do you think about the new Athletic Center: The Alfond Athletic Center is one of my favorite parts of campus. Not only do I love the architecture of the building, but it is also a space where I have shared memorable moments with my peers. From taking my first dance class with my friends to going to spin classes with my teammates on Saturday mornings, the athletic center is a space I am very grateful for. 

Favorite Place on Campus: My favorite place on campus is the Pugh Center because it is a safe space for minorities and a multicultural common ground. Especially as a person of color, I feel grateful for this space that sparks conversations with/of the LGBTQ+ community, people of color, and more.  

Most Memorable Team Experience: One of my favorite team experiences so far is the time we spent celebrating the holidays before winter break. When we all gathered at our captain's apartment to exchange gifts, it was a moment when I realized that I was not only surrounded by my teammates but also my lifelong friends.  

Plans After Colby: As of now, I would like to pursue a career in clinical psychology. After graduating from Colby, I plan to attend graduate school and get a doctorate in clinical psychology.
