Meghan Griffin

Meghan Griffin joins the Colby women’s lacrosse staff as an assistant coach in the spring of 2020.
Griffin comes to Colby from Wheaton College (Mass.), where she spent two years as an assistant
coach from 2017-2019. While at Wheaton, Meghan coached six All-NEWMAC players, and the
Lyons made a conference semifinal appearance in 2019 after reaching the quarterfinals a year
earlier.
Prior to Wheaton, Meghan spent four years as Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach and Director of
Sports Information at Wheelock College. While at Wheelock, Griffin guided the Wildcats to four
consecutive program-best seasons, finishing with a 10-7 overall record in 2017. The team advanced
to three NECC semifinal contests as well as a conference championship in 2015. The women’s
lacrosse program under Griffin earned IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for three seasons, posting
3.59 and 3.54 team GPAs in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
The Billerica, Mass. native got her start in coaching on the sidelines at her alma mater, Bridgewater
State University, spending three years as an assistant for the Bears. From 2011-2013, the Bears
amassed a 46-13 record, earning three conference titles and three NCAA tournament appearances.
As a student-athlete at BSU, Meghan helped the Bears to three New England Women’s Lacrosse
Alliance championships and a 2010 NCAA tournament bid. Following her senior season, she was
selected as the New England Women’s Lacrosse Alliance Goalkeeper of the Year and was named
to the All-NEWLA First Team. She finished her career as the program’s all-time victories leader and
turned away a school-record 194 shots for the single-season standard.
Beginning in 2013, Meghan coached for the Laxachusetts lacrosse club for over six years and had
previously worked for the New England Select Lacrosse League club program. 
Griffin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education from Bridgewater State University in
2011.
