BEFORE COLBY
Maddie graduated from Wells High School, where she was a member of the soccer, indoor track, and lacrosse teams. She was a top honor graduate and won the Maine Principal's Award and the St. Michael's College Book Award. She was a technician and clerk in the Emergency Department at York Hospital in Maine.
AT COLBY
Maddie is majoring in Biology with a minor in Education on the pre-med track. She is a Community Advisor, COOT leader, and Colby Cares About Kids mentor. She works as a research assistant for the Education Department.
2016-17 season highlights: Maddie, a co-captain, rowed from the first spot in the boat for the women's second varsity 8. She helped the crew place eighth at both the National Invitational Rowing Championships (NIRC) and the New England Championships. She also helped the second varsity 8 to a win in Georgia and victories over U. New Hampshire and U. Vermont. Maddie was on the NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team and the NIRC All-Academic Team. Maddie won the Thomas W. Easton Prize in Biology at the Colby Student Awards Ceremony. She also earned the crew's Scott A. Shirey Spirit Award.
2014-2015 season highlights: Andrews competed on the second varsity boat from the second position in her sophomore year, helping the Mules finish fourth at the Worcester Regatta, ninth at the New England Rowing Championship, and 13th at the ECAC National Championship.
2013-2014 season highlights: Andrews took second with the third varsity boat at the Lowell Regatta and second with the second varsity boat at the President's Cup race from the eighth position in her first year with the Mules.
