Katie graduated from the Thornton Academy, where she played soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. She was a National Honor Society member, a first team all-conference basketball selection, and was selected to the McDonald's All-Star Team.

AT COLBY 

Katie is an Economics and Computer Science double major. She is a Computer Science tutor, a Student Athletic Advisory Committee representative, and a Women in Economics participant. She works with the Boys and Girls Club of Portland in the summer. Katie also worked as a sales intern at Dell EMC this summer.

2018-19 season highlights: McCrum started all 24 games in her final season with the Mules, averaging 31.3 minutes a game. She finished second on the team in assists (2.3) and third in points (6.9) per contest, as well as third in rebounds (4.5) per conference game. She also tallied 10 steals and six blocks on the year. Katie finishes her career with 606 points, 325 points, and 206 points.

2017-18 season highlights: McCrum started all 24 games for the Mules. She led the team in assists per game (3.4), had the highest total amount of assists (82), and led the team in rebounds per conference game (5.3). McCrum was also seventh in the league 3-point shots per game and placed first in 3-point shots per conference game. She averaged 10.7 points per contest and 11.7 points in conference games. 

2016-17 season highlights: McCrum started all 25 games for the Mules. She was second on the team in assists per game (2.8), third on the team in rebounds per game (4.5), and fourth on the team in steals (17). She also averaged 7.7 points per contest and 8.6 points in conference games. She was named to the NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team.

2015-16 season highlights: Katie averaged 11.2 minutes per game while playing 25 contests. She averaged 2.2 points, 1.2 rebounds, and shot a perfect 11-for-11 from the foul line.
