Colby College graduate Tanner Burton '22 became an assistant coach for the Men's and Women's Track and Field teams to begin the 2023-24 academic year. Prior to his work at Colby, Burton oversaw the Messalonskee High School’s track and field program in Oakland, Maine. 

Burton was a hurdler for Colby, where he qualified for the Outdoor NCAA Championships in the 110 hurdles in 2022. Burton currently holds Colby’s 60-meter hurdle and 110-meter hurdle records, the latter of which earned him the NESCAC meet record in 2022. Burton earned All-NESCAC and All-NEICAAA honors his senior year.

Burton is USTFCCCA-level I Certified. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Higher Education and Human Development at the University of Maine, where he represented their track and field team for his final year of NCAA eligibility.
