BEFORE COLBY
Carter was a swimmer at South Salem High School.
AT COLBY
Carter has a Global Studies major and a double minor in Japanese and German.
2017-18 season higlights: After studying abroad in Japan, Garfield had two victories in the 100 breaststroke, as well as victories in the 50 breaststroke, 100 and 200 IM, 50 freestyle, and the 200 and 400 medley relay events during the season.
2016-17 season highlights: Garfield won all of his individual events at least once during the season, setting a new school record in the 100 IM. He placed 10th in the 50 breaststroke and set a school record with a 17th-place finish in the 200 IM at NESCAC Championships
