Biography

Why I chose Colby: I chose Colby because I wanted to join a close-knit community where I could pursue both intellectually stimulating academics while competing athletically in one of the best division three conferences 

Major: Economics and Government 

What do you think about the new Athletic Center: The new AC has completely changed the athletic experience for the better for student-athletes and non-athletes alike. Not only are the facilities and equipment top-notch, but the space provides students the opportunity to study, exercise, and be active members in community events. 

Favorite Place on Campus: Senior Apartments 

Most Memorable Team Experience: Florida spring training trip 2019 (and hopefully 2022)!  

Plans After Colby: Post-graduation I will be pursuing a career as a growth strategy consultant for the Beacon Group in Portland, Maine.

 

2020 Season Highlights: The 2020 season was canceled due to circumstances beyond our control.

2019 Season Highlights: Powell played multiple positions for the Mules as a first-year including SS, 2B as well as OF. She had a .943 fielding percentage, with 37 assists and 46 putouts. Laura also hit her first home run at the collegiate level and lead the team in walks (11).
