Meredith Atwood

Meredith Atwood joined the Colby Sports Medicine staff in 2019.

Meredith was born and raised in Machias, Maine and has been a certified athletic trainer since 2003.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training / Sports Medicine from Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, and completed her master’s degree in Health and Human Performance: Advanced Athletic Training from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.  At UTC, Meredith worked as a certified graduate assistant with Division I women’s volleyball, women’s soccer, and softball.  

After graduation, Meredith continued to live and work in the Chattanooga area for the next 15 years.  She first performed outreach through Parkridge Medical Center and then served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Covenant College on Lookout Mountain, Georgia for 10 years.  With an opportunity to join the Colby College community, Meredith was able to return to her home state of Maine and be closer to family.  

Within the Sports Medicine department, Meredith oversees all aspects of the student worker program, and she is the lead instructor for the CPR/First Aid training course for the Athletics staff.

Meredith provides direct medical services for Field Hockey, Crew, Swimming & Diving and Women's Lacrosse.
