Why I Chose Colby: I chose Colby because of the people that I met during my time on campus. I know that a lot of small liberal arts colleges can look the same to people on the outside, but I really felt a difference here in the way that students, professors, and coaches all approached elements of the academic experience. I wanted to be surrounded by sharp people who were willing to challenge me, collaborate with me, and engage in the work that I was interested in. Four years ago, there was a real sense of momentum at Colby, and it has been special to contribute to a community that is constantly pursuing a better version of itself.
Internship/Work Experience: Interned in summer 2019 as a Client Management / Investment Communications Intern at Harding Loevner. Interned in January 2019 (Jan Plan) as an Account Analyst Intern at LPL Financial.
Major: Economics, Government
Most Memorable Team Experience: Coming from behind to upset higher-seeded Trinity and WPI and grab a spot in the New England finals in 2019.
Favorite Place on Campus: My favorite place on campus is the Hume Center. Every time we dock on Snow Pond I feel like one of the luckiest people in Maine. The Hume has become a place of growth, something almost sacred when we are there in the early mornings putting in work. It also makes college feel a little bit closer to summer camp, which can’t be a bad thing.
Plans After Colby: Move to NYC and continue working in finance, but law school eventually.
