BEFORE COLBY

Makoto graduated from St. Viator High School and played soccer. Over the summer of 2016, he worked as a research assistant on campus.

AT COLBY

Makoto is majoring in Computer Science and Economics. He is the vice president of the Colby Drone Club.

2017-2018 season highlights: Makoto, who made the NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team, rowed from the first spot in the second varsity 8. He also was on the National Invitational Rowing Championship All-Academic Team.

2016-2017 season highlights: Makoto mostly sat in the second seat in the second varsity 8, but also rowed from the first, fourth, and eighth positions. He was in the second spot when the Mules finished sixth overall and competed in the Grand Final at the New England Championships and in a dual win over University of New Hampshire. He was in the first spot at the National Invitational Rowing Championships (NIRC) when Colby finished 14th. Makoto was on the NIRC All-Academic Team and the NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team.

2014-2015 season highlights: Kinoshata opened the season by finishing fifth from the second position with the novice boat at the Snake Regatta. Makoto competed from the first position in the second varsity boat for the remainder of the season, finishing second at the UNH Regatta and 15^th at the ECAC National Championship.
