Ben Urbanowski

Ben Urbanowski, an assistant coach at Boston University and Franklin & Marshall College, is entering his second year as an assistant coach for the Colby College men's and women's crew programs in the 2019-20 academic year.
 
 
"We're thrilled to welcome Ben to Colby crew and the entire Colby community, Stokes said. "His rowing from high school through college has provided him a great understanding of the experiences and perspectives of our current and prospective student athletes and the goals they are working to achieve."
 
Urbanowski was an assistant coach at Boston University for the 2017-18 academic year. In  addition to coaching at BU, he earned an advanced certificate in June 2018 as a coaching fellow at the Institute for Rowing Leadership at Community Rowing, Inc. Urbanowski was an assistant coach of the men's under-23 summer program and led youth and adult rowing courses.
 
Prior to his time at BU, he was an assistant coach for the men's and women's crews at Franklin & Marshall and at Conshohocken Rowing Center.
 
"Since his graduation from college, Ben's coaching background from the Division I and Division III levels and the Institute for Rowing Leadership has given him a level of professional experience that is already making a positive impact on our crews."
 
A native of Gibralter, Mich., Urbanowski is a May 2015 graduate of Mercyhurst University. He was a member of the lightweight rowing team and graduated with a bachelor's degree in exercise science.
