Biography

Why I chose Colby: Colby felt like a good place to pursue my interests in art and science. Also, Tracey was one of the best coaches I talked to when I was looking at schools. The Quarry Road ski trails are so close to campus and I knew training with the team would be high quality. 

Major: Environmental Science

What do you think of the new Athletic Center?: World class

Favorite place on campus: The Bixler printmaking studio

Internship/work experience: 7 Lakes Alliance, El Sancho Taco Shop, Southeast Alaska fisherperson

Plans after Colby: Undecided

2020 season highlights: Waichler competed in all six carnivals during her junior season, earning four top 30 finishes. Her 24th place in the Bates Carnival 5km freestyle marked her top finish on the season. 

2019 season highlights: Waichler followed up her first-year campaign with a strong sophomore season. She earned six top 30 finishes, including a 12th place at the Dartmouth Carnival 10K skate race and a 16th at the Middlebury 10K Classic. Waichler finished the season 2nd for the Mules in NCAA points. 

2018 season highlights: Waichler finished off a strong first season as a Mule, in which she had six top-20 finishes. She had her best finish at the Colby Carnival, where she finished 12th in the 5K. She also had a strong showing at the Dartmouth Carnival, placing 16th in the 5K and 33rd in the 5K.
