Colby College

Mike Napoli enters his second season as an assistant for Colby College men’s and women’s tennis in the 2019-20 academic year. Napoli brings tremendous experience to Colby. Most recently, he was the Head Men’s Tennis Coach at UC Santa Cruz, and also been Head Men’s and Women Tennis Coach at Ave Maria University and the Head Women’s coach at Cuesta College in California.

Napoli has worked as an assistant coach at William and Mary University, Florida Gulf Coast University, San Diego State University and Cal Poly SLO, where he helped the team to a Division 2 National Championship.

Napoli, who has been teaching tennis since 1977, also brings extensive playing experience playing both singles and doubles on the ATP Pro Circuit from 1979 to 1989.

Napoli has earned multiple coach of the year awards, including the ITA National Coach of the Year in 2009, and was inducted into the California state coaches Hall of Fame in 2013 after helping Cuesta College to 13 Western State titles during his tenure.
