James Dillon

James Dillon enters his first season on the Mules staff for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Dillon comes to Colby most recently from Maine Maritime Academy, where he served as head coach for the 2019 and 2018 seasons. Prior to inheriting the role as head coach, he served as an assistant coach for the Mariners for the 2017 season.

Dillon’s 2018 team saw individual and team improvements, where the Mariners hosted a NAC playoff game for the first time since 2015. Two underclassmen earned all-conference recognition at the conclusion of the season.

The 2019 season ended with three-way tie for third place in the North Atlantic Conference. Individual players earning all-conference honors increased to four, including a repeat First Team All-NAC defender who went on to earn the MMA athletic department’s Leader of the Year award.

A graduate of Salve Regina University, Dillon was four-year member of the Seahawks lacrosse team from 2010-2013 and garnered academic all-conference honors for the 2013 season. The Jupiter, FL native spent two years as an assistant basketball and lacrosse coach for the Pine School.
