BEFORE COLBY
Matt graduated from The Blake School, where he played soccer, baseball, skied, and ran cross country. He was a three-time all-conference honorable mention in cross country, a four-time all-conference skier, a two-time all-conference baseball selection, and baseball team MVP as a senior. He captained the cross country and apline ski teams and also received the Dean’s Award.
AT COLBY
Matt intends on majoring in Economics (Financial Markets) at Colby. He is a member of the Colby Student Athlete Advisory Committee, a COOT Leader, and the co-president of the Class of 2019. Matt worked with Piper Jaffray, the RBI Program of Minneapolis, and O’Brien Staley Partners in past summers the summer.
2018 season highlights: Mitchell saw action in 20 games and had 11 starts. He had eight hits and five RBI while walking four times.
2017 season highlights: Mitchell played in 24 games for the Mules in his sophomore season, finishing with 10 hits, eight RBI, eight walks, and eight runs. Matt was on the NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team.
2016 season highlights: Mitchell played in 15 games for the Mules in his first season, finishing the year with five hits, three RBI, one walk, and four runs.
