2019-20 season highlights: Jefferson was named to the Academic All-America team presented by CoSIDA as well as earning Honorable Mention All-American by D3hoops.com. He is the 18th men's basketball player to earn All American recognition. Sam was also a first team All-NESCAC selection. He broke the Colby career record for three pointers in November in a 35-point performance against Gordon, also earning the NESCAC Player of the Week and D3hoops.com Team of the Week for his efforts. He was third in the conference in points per game (18.7), first in three-point percentage (49.7). Sam played in 24 games for the Mules and started 21 of them. Jefferson lead the team in scoring with 18.7 per game. He also averaged 2.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per contest.
2018-19 season highlights: Jefferson earned First Team All-State Team, NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team, and Google Cloud Academic All-District 1 Basketball Team honors. A one-time NESCAC Player of the Week, USBWA National Player of the Week, and two-time Maine Men's Basketball Player of the Week, he was fourth in the conference in points per game (18.2) and three-point percentage (42.5). Sam started all 25 games for the Mules, leading the team in minutes with 31.8 per game. He also averaged 4.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and one steal per contest. In the NESCAC quarterfinal game, Jefferson passed 1,000 career points.
2017-18 season highlights: Sam was on the Maine State Second Team. Jefferson started in all 24 games for the Mules, averaging 29.0 minutes a game. He finished first on the team in points (369) and third in both rebounds (92) and assists (45). He averaged 13.9 points, 2.3 assists, and 4.3 rebounds in conference games. Through just two seasons with the Mules, Sam already has 555 points, 188 rebounds, 84 assists, 119 made 3-points shots, 29 steals, and 20 blocks. Sam was on the NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team.
2016-17 season highlights: Jefferson played in all 24 games for the Mules, averaging 24.1 minutes a game. He averaged 7.8 points, nine points against NESCAC teams, 1.6 assists, and four rebounds per contest.
