Liam Hobbins

Liam Hobbins joined the Colby Football coaching staff as the Defensive Coordinator ahead of the 2024-25 academic year. Before coming to Mayflower Hill, Hobbins served as the Defensive Ends/Special Teams Coordinator at Bowdoin for the 2023 season.

In 2022, Hobbins was the Defensive Backs Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for St. Lawrence University. With the Saints, Hobbins defensive backfield ranked in the top half of the Liberty League in interceptions in 2022 while allowing just 168.5 yards passing per contest.

Hobbins spent three seasons as the Defensive Backs Coach at the University of New England, adding Special Teams Coordinator duties following the 2018 season. He helped the Nor'easters finish second in the Commonwealth Coast Conference in passing yards allowed per game and three of his defensive backs finished in the top-10 in the league in pass breakups in 2019. As the Special Teams Coordinator, he helped the Nor'easters finish second in the nation in blocked kicks.

A 2017 graduate of Alfred University, Hobbins was a two-year starter at free safety and helped lead the Saxons to an Empire Eight title and advance to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Tournament in 2016. Prior to attending Alfred, Hobbins attended Assumption College for two years, playing in a competitive NCAA Division II conference.

"I Love Football. I Love Maine. Extremely excited to work under Coach Cosgrove, develop meaningful relationships with our young men and represent Colby College."
