BEFORE COLBY
Danielle played field hockey and lacrosse at Salem (N.H.) High School. Smith was on the New Hampshire All-State Second Team in 2012 for field hockey, NHIAA/NHADA Scholar-Athlete in 2014, and 2012 Salem High School Female Fall Scholar-Athlete.
AT COLBY
Danielle is a Chemistry (Biochemistry concentration) major and a Mathematics minor at Colby. Her twin sister, Erika, is also a member of the field hockey team. In the summer of 2016, she worked on biochemical research alongside a Colby professor at MIT. Danielle received a Phi Beta Kappa Scholastic Achievement Award in 2016.
2016 season highlights: Smith played in 12 games for the Mules, finishing the season with two goals and an assist. She was a National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Scholar of Distinction, was on the NFHCA National Academic Squad, and the NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team.
2015 season highlights: Smith saw limited time in her second season with the team. She was a National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Scholar of Distinction, was on the NFHCA National Academic Squad, and the NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team.
2014 season highlights: Smith appeared in six games for the Mules in her first season with the team. She made the National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad.
