Tom graduated from Boston College High School.

Tom majors in Economics-Mathematics and minors in Cinema Studies at Colby.

2016 cross country season highlights: O'Donnell finished 14th at the Bates junior/senior race, 22nd at Maine State Championships, and 85th at the NESCAC Championships. Tom was on the NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team.

2016 outdoor season highlights: O’Donnell started the outdoor season at the PLNU Invitational with a ninth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. At the Bowdoin Invitational, Tom raced to a victory in the 3,000 steeplechase. Tom finished in fifth place in the 10,000 meters with a personal best of 33:23.85. At the NESCAC Championships, O’Donnell raced in the 3,000 steeplechase with a 14th-place finish and a personal best of 10:01.32. Tom finished his junior season at the New England DIII Championships with a 20th-place finish in the 3,000 steeplechase. Tom also earned NESCAC Spring All-Academic honors.

2016 indoor track season highlights: O’Donnell competed in distance events in the indoor season. He finished seventh in the mile at the USM Open and 13th in the 3,000 at the Bates tri-meet. Tom finished second at the Bates Invitational and 10th at the Maine State Championships in the 5,000. O’Donnell added a sixth in the 3,000 at the Wheaton Invitational. He was named to the NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team.

2015 cross country season highlights: O’Donnell finished 16th at the Bates junior/senior Race, fifth at the Bowdoin Invitational, 21st at the Maine State Championships, 117th at the NESCAC Championships, and 42nd at the ECAC Championships in his junior season.

2015 outdoor track season highlights: O'Donnell finished in sixth place in the 3,000 steeplechase at the Colby Invitational. O'Donnell competed in the 5,000 event at the Jim Sheehan Memorial and the Maine State Championships, finishing 12th in both events.

2015 indoor track season highlights: O'Donnell opened the season by taking third in the 4x800 relay and sixth in the 5,000 at the Bates Invitational. At the Bowdoin Invitational, O'Donnell took 24th in the mile and he was 18th in the 5,000 at the Maine State Championships.

2014 cross country season highlights: O'Donnell finished 26th in the first-year/sophomore race at Bates to open the season. Tom took second at the Colby Invitational and finished 50th in the Maine State Championships. He was on the NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team.

2014 outdoor track season highlights: O'Donnell opened the season by finishing 15th in the 1,500 at the Bates Invitational. At the Maine State Championships, O'Donnell finished 14th in the 5,000.

2014 indoor track season highlights: O'Donnell competed in three events for the Mules in the 2014 season, finishing 10th in the 3,000 at the Bates Invitational and 20th in the same event at the Bowdoin Invitational. Tom finished his season at the Maine State Championships, finishing 15th in the 5,000.

2013 cross country season highlights: O'Donnell finished 23rd in the first-year/sophomore race at Bates to open the season. He followed that with a fourth-place finish at the Colby Invitational.
