Summer Internship/Work Experience: During the summer of 2019, Rob worked at the Columbia Medical Center in New York City in the clinical microbiology lab and contributed to a research project focusing on Burkholderia cepacia complex species.

Major: Biochemistry

Plans After Colby: "Become a physician."

2019 season highlights: Dettmann placed 26^th at the Bowdoin invitational, 31^st at the State of Maine meet and 226^th at the Connecticut College invitational.  He then placed 75^th overall at the NESCACs championships and 8^th for the Mules.  Dettmann raced at the New England regional race, placing 98^th overall with a lifetime best time.  He also raced to a 7^th spot on the team at the National meet with an 265^th overall finish.

2018 season highlights: Dettmann finished 42nd in the Maine State Championships and 94th in the NESCAC meet this season. He was on the NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team.

2017 season highlights: Rob placed 15^th in the first-year/sophomore race against Bates. He also was 44^th and fourth among Colby runners at the Bowdoin Invitational. Rob, who was on the NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team, also competed at the NESCAC meet.

2016 season highlights: Dettmann finished 12th at the Bates first-year/sophomore race and 53rd at the Maine State Championships.
