The Colby Men’s Ice Hockey program began in 1922 and belongs to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), one of the most competitive Division III conferences in the nation. The team competes in the
Jack Kelley Rink at the O'Neil and O'Donnell Forum inside the Harold Aflond Atheltics and Recreation Center. First used in October of 2020, the rink holds 1,796 spectators and The Cerepak-Knight Room overlooks the ice arena to provide a functional space for team meetings, film review, game day events and more.
The Mules are led by the Jack Kelley Head Coach Blaise MacDonald, the 2022 NESCAC Coach of the Year, who joined the team in 2012 and brought home the Conference Championship in 2018. That same year the team competed in the NCAA Tournament making it to the Frozen Four. The Mules also competed in the NCAA Tournament in 1996. For the last four consecutive years, Colby Men's Ice Hockey has competed in the NESCAC Tournament while earning ten conference awards including All-American Jack Sullivan the 2022 Rookie of the Year.
