The Colby College Football program has a rich history dating all the way back to 1892 and currently competes in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), a highly competitive Division III conference. The team competes on
Seaverns Field, a long-grass synthetic turf field located at the Harold Alfond Stadium, which was restored in 2008 and has a seating capacity of 2,000. It is surrounded by the 400-meter, eight-lane Alfond Track.
The current Dick McGee Head Coach for Colby Football is Jack Cosgrove who joined the program in 2018. Over the last three years Colby Football has seen 15 All-NESCAC awards including the 2024 Conference Rookie of the Year Jack Nye '28. In 2023, Colby Football student-athlete Andrew Iferenta '24 earned the schools Condon Medal award while the team beat previously undefeated Wesleyan 20-13 in overtime. The program has totaled three All-Americans in its hisotry and 89 All-Conference awards including Matt Hersch's Co-Rookie of the Year award in 2018. The team was crowned NESCAC Champions in 2000.
